Turning Point West Midlands

Turning Point West Midlands (TPWM) is funded by Arts Council England and hosted and supported by Birmingham School of Art, Birmingham City University. TPWM is part of the national Contemporary Visual Art Network (CVAN).  The network was established as the result of a major review of the visual arts commissioned by Arts Council England in 2006.

Artist Minigraphs

The first volume of Artist Minigraphs have been published by ARTicle Press, Centre for Fine Art Research, Birmingham City University. These short essays by different writers have been commissioned by Turning Point West Midlands. Each focus on an artist and their work.

Visual Art and Craft in the West Midlands

Turning Point West Midlands has commissioned an essay from curator Matt Price spotlighting the West Midlands in terms of its artist-led spaces, world-class collections, dynamic festivals and the exciting artists and artwork emerging from the region's five art colleges.


New Writing

In 2014 Turning Point West Midlands, in collaboration with Writing West Midlands, commissioned the author Jim Crace to write a piece based on his own perspective of the visual arts in the West Midlands.
